Everything You Need to Know About Towing & Roadside Assistance

At Artie’s Towing, we know that when you need a tow or roadside assistance, you often have questions — and you want answers fast. We’ve put together this list of frequently asked questions to help you understand our services, what to expect when you call, and how we can help make a stressful situation easier.

How long will it take after I call?

We strive to reach every customer within an hour of their call. In normal conditions, that’s our standard response time. However, in extreme weather conditions (snow, storms, etc.), travel and response times may vary.

We always provide an honest estimated time of arrival when you call so you know exactly when to expect us.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What kind of truck are you sending?

Not necessarily. It's possible that a section of your roof is loose, or that damage occurred in one place only. We'll conduct a thorough investigation before suggesting repair options.

  • Is there an extra charge during holidays or weekends?

We’ll install your spare or assist with safe tire changes.

  • I’ve heard it’s better to let my insured car go to the tow yard after an accident. Why?

There are several benefits to allowing your vehicle to go to our secure tow yard after an accident:

    1. You don’t have to pay the tow bill upfront.
    2. Insurance adjusters can inspect your car and other involved vehicles sooner, helping avoid unnecessary storage fees.
    3. You won’t have a damaged vehicle sitting at your home.
    4. Some municipalities may ticket or remove wrecked vehicles left on private property, citing them as hazards.

In short, letting your car go to our tow yard often simplifies the claims process and saves you time, stress, and money.

  • Can you tow motorcycles?

Yes. We are fully equipped to tow motorcycles safely.

We use special motorcycle dollies — similar to a small trailer — to load your bike at ground level. It’s then securely strapped down and pulled onto a flatbed truck for additional safety during transport.

  • What if I have a flat tire and no spare?

Unfortunately, we don’t sell tires, so we can’t replace a damaged one on the spot.

    However, we can:

    • Tow your vehicle to a repair facility to have the tire replaced or repaired.
    • Help you get to safety quickly if you’re stranded on the roadside.
  • My battery is dead. Can you bring me a new one?

We do not sell batteries, and often a dead battery isn’t the only problem. That’s why a full diagnostic at a repair facility is usually the best solution.

    However, we can provide:

    • Roadside jump-start service to get your vehicle running.
    • Towing to a repair facility if the jump doesn’t work.
  • Can you bill my insurance or motor club?

No — we don’t bill insurance companies or motor clubs directly (unless we’re dispatched directly by a motor club).

However, we provide you with a verifiable receipt that includes all charges and rates. You can submit this to your insurance company or motor club for reimbursement.
